​Our Goal

Gunn Sports Boosters supports Gunn student athletes in partnership with the Gunn Athletics Department. We work together as one community to enhance the student athletic experience through support of projects that impact a broad number of kids, and improvements that benefit multiple sports.

Gunn Athletics is supported by funding from Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD), and also supported by Gunn Sports Boosters.

Who pays for what?

​

All three sources play an important role in the Athletics program:

​

• Gunn Sports Boosters: Major projects and equipment that are above and beyond the essentials, such as the Gunn Football inflatable tunnel, Titan gym scorer's table, Soccer goals, Wrestling mats, Gunn Softball complex sign, and Titan Gym Banners

• Team Participation Donations: Basic equipment, basic uniforms, Tournament entry fees, Team dinners and outings, senior posters, senior night event costs, end-of-season awards and banquets, and medical supplies.

• PAUSD, aka Athletics Dept: Coaches, field/pool/gym maintenance, referees, league fees, buses, and safety-related items.

Why our help is needed?

​

Gunn High School’s athletics program receives limited financial support from PAUSD - around 18% of its annual budget. The Athletics Department collects Athletic Participation Donations from each student athlete's family to help to cover the rest of the essentials needed to compete in each sport.

 

With 45 teams, multiple sports facilities, and over a thousand student athletes, Gunn Sports Boosters strives to supplement the additional funding needs of all sports, helping to pay for major projects and equipment that fall outside the Athletic Department budget.
